2026 Leadership Transition
Giuseppe Schillizzi has been elected as the new Moderator of the ICPE Mission for a 5-year term, succeeding Mario Cappello as Founding President.
The new moderator was installed in his role during a special Mass presided over by His Excellency Gualtiero Isacchi, Archbishop of Monreale, on Saturday, 17th January 2026, in Partinico. In his homily, Archbishop Isacchi invited the ICPE Mission members to rekindle their missionary vocation in this moment of grace.

Giuseppe Schillizzi said that he accepts the responsibility as moderator “not as an achievement, but as a mandate: a gift of grace that brings with it a missionary responsibility”. He expressed his desire “to guard and nourish the fire of the mission without ceasing” so that the ICPE Mission may continue to live its charism with passion and fidelity. His vision echoes three fundamental dimensions highlighted during the Installation Mass: worship, community, and mission.
Giuseppe was born in Sicily and he has been married to Loredana for 30 years. Together, they have 3 children and a grandson. Giuseppe and Loredana have been active members of the ICPE Mission community Dio Vivente since its foundation in 1985, and are life – covenanted members for 27 years.
Ivan Lim, Deputy Moderator of the ICPE Mission:
We stand with you—across nations and cultures… upheld by an international community that prays for you and supports you.
The celebration has marked also an end of leadership role of our Founders, Mario and Anna Cappello. The ICPE Mission community expresses profound gratitude for the Founders’ decades of service. Mario and Anna Cappello have given their lives to the Mission and provided a strong foundation for its growth and fidelity to the Church. The installation of a new Moderator after 41 years is a sign that God continues to care for, and guide, this community.
During his address Mario Cappello said:
Anna and I have long prayed for a successor. Today, it is our joy to stand before you, dear Giuseppe, committed to supporting you and the Mission as it continues to mature in its vision: to make Christ—our Lord and Saviour—known and loved.

Among those present in Partinico were International Council members, coordinators of the ICPE communities, members of the Dio Vivente as well as other Sicilian Catholic charismatic communities, and many long time friends of our mission.
